STEAM Mondays
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math)
9am - 12:30 pm
Children bring a lunch to eat with their friends. Children will learn through hands-on science, engineering and math activities. Children, especially younger ones, learn science best and understand scientific ideas better if they are able to investigate and experiment. Hands-on science can also help children think critically and gain confidence in their own ability to solve problems.
We offer this program to children in both PreK classes on Mondays from 9am-12:30pm.
Enrollment is on a first come - first served basis.
This is for children ages 18 mo-3 years. This program meets the social needs of toddlers before entering preschool and also provides a safe learning environment while parents are away from their young child. Activities include playtime, music, snack and art experiences as well as outdoor or indoor large motor time. Maximum group size is eight children with two teachers.
Child/Adult activities such as art exploration, music time, and playtime are set up for enjoyment together. Children form first friendships with the children that they see weekly and adults connect with other adults as well.
Often parenting issues, concerns, triumphs are shared among the group. Having experience in playgroup tends to make the transition to preschool easier as the children learn the routine, get comfortable listening to another adult, and gain confidence in their abilities. The music and story component is a strong language builder for all children.
