Fun, Safe, Learning Opportunities for your Toddler through Play
Playgroups: Social experiences in a developmentally appropriate setting to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with a caregiver.
Are you looking for a quality together time experience with your toddler? Are you looking to connect with other moms of toddlers and build friendships?
Playgroups are designed for children under the age of 3 and an important adult in their life (mom, dad, nanny, grandma, grandpa, etc...) to attend together. Children become comfortable in the environment while feeling secure with that important person nearby.
Child/Adult activities such as art exploration, music time, and playtime are set up for enjoyment together. Children form first friendships with the children that they see weekly and adults connect with other adults as well.
Often parenting issues, concerns, triumphs are shared among the group. Having experience in playgroup tends to make the transition to preschool easier as the children learn the routine, get comfortable listening to another adult, and gain confidence in their abilities. The music and story component is a strong language builder for all children.
What does our playgroup schedule look like?
9:00-9:45: Playtime with art experiences offered and chat time for parents/caregivers
9:45: Clean Up the room together and find a spot together on the rug.
9:50-10:05: Music Time...singing familiar songs/fingerplays, dancing and learning new songs each month.
10:05-10:20: Snack Time together....learning snack routines, prayers, eating simple snacks & drinking out of an open cup, clean-up our space.
10:20-10:40: Playground Time with each other or Large Motor Fun in the Big Room
10:40: We say Good-bye to our friends from the playground
Tuition is "per family" and includes Developmental screenings each semester, a parenting newsletter and guidance under the Playgroup Facilitator.
