Faith Lutheran Programs for Young Children (PYC) offers a variety of classes and age groups to meet the social and academic needs of children and families. All 3 Day classes are multi age with 3 and 4 year olds attending the class. Two day preschool is intended just for 3's, while our PreK program requires children to be eligible for Kindergarten the next school year. Playgroups are a family event, with infants and crawlers welcome to join their older sibling in our Toddler Room. Faith Lutheran's Preschool Charter requires all lead teachers to have completed a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary or Special Education or a related field with extensive experience working with children from the ages of 0-5. Most of our teachers have raised their own children or are in the process of raising school agers. Most are also veteran parents of Faith PYC, so have been trained by us "in the trenches" as they volunteered in our classrooms. All parents and caregivers who have regular contact with children in our preschool classes or playgroups are required to complete Illinois Department of Children and Family Services' (DCFS) Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) Authorization in order to enroll a child in our programs. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well being of the children in our care. All staff have full FBI fingerprint background checks as well as the CANTS background check.
